SoftOrbis Photo Editor is intended to make various types of corrections and adjustments to your photographs. One of the most common problems about using this type of software is their steep learning curve. Fortunately, this editor is one of those you can use right away without even needing to consult its documentation.
It is essential for any photo editor to support multiple picture formats so it is good news that SoftOrbis Photo Editor allows importing practically all types of images. Besides those common operations that you can do with any similar software, such as cropping, rotating, color correction, resizing and adding text, you can use this application for other purposes. In this respect, a feature that deserves attention is the possibility of removing unwanted objects from a photo. Thus, after using one of the selection tools available (selection marker, rectangular, free-form select and select color), you can choose an object removal mode. Luckily, the application lets you pick one from Impainting, Texture generation and Quick remove. Of these modes, impainting seems to be the most accurate. However, I should alert you that object-removal algorithms work best with small objects. With more voluminous forms, you should probably use a manual procedure, like clone stamp. Other features of this application allow you to reduce blurring, delete the background, conceal imperfections and remove the red-eye effect.
All in all, SoftOrbis Photo Editor has the main advantage of being simple to use and quite inexpensive if we compare it to other programs of its kind. However, it definitely lacks the features that could be make it an essential tool for professional photographers. Three different licenses of this product are available: Personal, Pro, and Business.
- Easier to use than sophisticated software of the same type
- Support of multiple picture formats
- Various object-removal modes
- Less features than other products of the same type
